While Muembe Makumbi City fought valiantly to find an equalizer, Simba’s defensive discipline ensured they kept a clean sheet and silenced the local challengers.

The win sees Simba ascend to the top of Group B with three points with the loss seeing Muembe Makumbi ousted out of the tournament having earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Fufuni SC in their opening game.

Simba SC will be up against Fufuni SC on Monday in their final group game with the Tanzania giants only needing a draw to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

The competition continues on Sunday where Young Africans SC will take on KVZ FC in a Group C game.
