Posta Rangers registered their first victory of the 2026/27 FKF Premier League campaign after substitute Mark Shaban scored in stoppage time to secure a 1-0 triumph over KCB at Police Sacco Stadium on Friday.

Shaban settled the contest in the 93rd minute, ending the Mailmen’s two-game losing streak and easing pressure on head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno following defeats to Shabana FC and Murang’a Seal.

Posta started brightly, with Brian Yakhama creating opportunities for Brian Ouma and Robert Karisa in the opening 12 minutes, but neither could convert their chances.

Ouma squandered another opportunity in the 25th minute when he failed to direct his free-kick header on target as the visitors searched for an opener.

KCB struggled to threaten consistently in the first half, relying largely on set-pieces as both teams went into the break level.

The second period remained evenly contested, with the bankers coming close to breaking the deadlock in the 88th minute when Geoffrey Ojunga’s effort struck the post.

However, Posta delivered the decisive moment in added time. Faustine Ojiambo picked out Shaban with a long pass, allowing the substitute to beat Joshua Onyango before firing home the winner.

The result lifted Posta’s spirits after a difficult start, while KCB suffered their first defeat of the season following a draw against Nairobi United and a win over Mathare United.
