Michael Olunga provided an assist as Al Duhail beat Al Ahli 2-1 to consolidate their lead at the top of Qatari Stars League on Saturday.
Hosts Duhail took a 21st-minute lead through Khaled Mohammed after being put through by the Harambee Stars captain before doubling their lead in the 44th minute through Sultan Al-Braik for a 2-0 lead at the break.

While Ahli reduced the arrears in the 53rd minute through Abubakar Mohammed, Duhail held on for three important points with their concentration now shifting to the Qatar Cup competition where they are scheduled to take on Al Wakrah in the next four days.
In other matches on Saturday that had Kenyans, defender Clarke Oduor was left on the bench as Barnsley left it late to draw Portsmouuth 1-1 in an English Leaguie one game; the same fate befalling Brian Mandela who watched from the bench as Mamelodi Sundowns beat giants Orlando Pirates in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League.
In Thailand, Eric Omondi was introduced by Muang Thong United at the start of the second half as Muang Thong went 2-1 down to Sukhothai in the Thai League.
The loss leaves Muang Thong placed ninth on the league log with 22 points and 18 games with their Saturday opponents climbing to tenth.
