Simba Queens qualified for the semi-finals of the CAF Women Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers following their 3-0 win over Kawempe Muslim on Wednesday afternoon at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Uganda’s Kawempe gave Simba a run for their money and should have taken the lead after hitting the crossbar twice through Hadijah Nandago. They were however made to rue their missed chances as Simba were to bag the three goals from Harambee Starlets players.

Starlets midfielder Corazone Aquino put the Queens ahead in the 64th minute with Jentrix Shikangwa doubling their lead five minutes later after nodding home a delivered corner kick from Precious Christopher. Another Kenyan Elizabeth Mutukiza Wambui wrapped up the scoring proceedings 15 minutes from time with a beautiful curving shot 15 minutes from time.

Simba Queens who opened the tournament with a 5-0 win against FAD Djibouti have now scored eight goals and conceded none and proceed into the semis where they join Commercial Bank of Ethiopia who had qualified on Tuesday.
