FKF Premier League side KCB FC has received a timely boost with the news that keeper Bryne Omondi has returned to training.

Omondi who has been out for close to two months injured himself while on international duty with the Kenyan national men’s football team, Harambee Stars, but the player joined the rest of his teammates in training this week.

Omondi was withdrawn in the 13th minute as Stars were held to a 2-2 draw by Russia in a friendly game staged in October and his return will be a huge boost for the Bernard Mwalala side who have hot form in recent games.

“Kenya’s number one, Byrne (Omondi) came back to train with the team with his moon boot in a sack after recovering from an injury he suffered while on national duty and was given a guard of honour by the rest of the squad,” KCB said on confirming the keeper’s return.

Omondi has missed KCB’s last eight matches including their 1-1 draw against Ulinzi Stars, 4-1 win against Nairobi City Stars, 3-0 defeat against Sofapaka, 0-0 draw against Posta Rangers, 3-0 victory against Bidco United, 2-1 victory against Murang’a Seal, 1-1 draw against Shabana and 0-0 draw against FC Talanta.

He will be hoping to get some game time when they take on Police FC this weekend at the Police Sacco Stadium.
