Gor Mahia head coach Johnny McKinstry believes Tusker FC deserved two red cards in their FKF Premier League Sunday dwell that ended in a scoreless draw.

There were two incidents in the game with Eric Otieno spotted elbowing defender Dennis Nganga in an off-the-ball incident and McKinstry adding that defender Charles Momanyi had caused injury to star striker Benson Omala.

“It was a big challenge today (Sunday) but I think we created chances but were a bit unlucky.  A draw is a fair result but if we had VAR then Tusker should have finished the game with nine men. Otieno elbowed Nganga twice in the game. We called the fourth official’s attention after the first incident but Otieno went ahead and delivered the second elbow just ten seconds later and nothing happened.

“The other incident was on Momanyi (Charles) who caused harm to Omala. Omala has a scar from the eyebrow to the neck of the fingernails. Hen he was dragged down you can see the scar on him and that was a definite red card. If they get a red card in the first 20 minutes at the time of Otieno’s incident that changes the outlook of the game. But I can’t blame the referee much because these were things because he didn’t see any of the incidents in the game,” McKinstry said.

Gor is just a point below Tusker FC and now shifts their attention to Ulinzi Stars.
