South Africa national team head coach Pitso Mosimane has been dragged into a KSh 9.75 million legal dispute linked to his October 2024 appointment at Iranian club Esteghlal.

Football agent Hamed Ghadiri has approached the Johannesburg High Court seeking payment from MT Sports Marketing and Management, a company run by Mosimane’s wife, Moira Tlhagale.

According to court papers cited by the Sowetan, Ghadiri claims he facilitated Mosimane’s move to Iran after being authorised by MT Sports to negotiate with Esteghlal in October 2024. The negotiations allegedly resulted in Mosimane signing a contract on October 18, 2024.

The dispute centres on an alleged KSh 13 million intermediary fee, of which Ghadiri claims he was entitled to 75%, amounting to KSh 9.75 million. He alleges that he has never received the payment.

Ghadiri is seeking access to MT Sports’ company records and bank statements to establish how money connected to the coaching appointment was handled. The court papers also reportedly detail an alleged conversation with Mosimane in February 2025, following the coach’s departure from Esteghlal amid a dispute over unpaid wages.

Ghadiri claims Mosimane told him he had referred his salary dispute to FIFA and asked him to remain quiet, allegedly promising to settle the agent’s outstanding payment when funds became available.

The agent reportedly issued a demand letter in March 2026 before filing court papers on March 31. The matter is before the Johannesburg High Court, with the dispute centred on the alleged commission agreement and outstanding payment. The allegations have yet to be established in court.
