Harambee Starlets captain Mwanahalima Jereko Adam, popularly known as Dogo, featured for HB Koge as the Danish side suffered an 8-0 defeat against defending champions FC Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Thursday.

Dogo started the Matchday Three encounter but endured a difficult evening against the Spanish giants. The Kenyan international was booked in the 11th minute following a challenge on Spanish forward Claudia Pina. After a lengthy VAR review, the referee awarded Barcelona a penalty, which Norwegian international Caroline Graham Hansen converted to open the scoring.

Ewa Pajor doubled Barcelona’s advantage in the 33rd minute before the visitors turned on the style after the break. Esmee Brugts, Patricia Guijarro and Clara Serrajordi scored to make it 5-0, while substitute Kika Nazareth added the sixth.

Dogo’s evening ended in the 63rd minute when she was substituted for Zuzana Witek as HB Koge struggled to contain Barcelona’s attacking power.

Pina scored twice to complete the rout, sealing an emphatic victory for the European champions.

The result marked Barcelona’s third-biggest win in Champions League history. They remain top of their group with nine points from three matches and an impressive 19 goals scored against two conceded.
