Harambee Stars prospect Tyler Onyango will leave Everton at the end of June after the Premier League club confirmed he is among several academy players whose contracts will not be renewed.
The midfielder’s departure was announced as part of Everton’s retained and released list ahead of the 2026/27 season, bringing an end to his long association with the Merseyside club.

Onyango, who has represented England at youth level but remains eligible for Kenya, has long been regarded as one of the country’s most promising talents abroad. The powerful midfielder progressed through Everton’s academy ranks and earned first-team opportunities, becoming one of the youngest players to feature for the club in the Premier League.
In March this year, Onyango was among a group of foreign-based Kenyan-eligible players who held talks with Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy and members of his technical bench. The discussions formed part of efforts to convince eligible players to represent Kenya at senior international level, with Onyango understood to have been receptive to the idea.
Everton confirmed in a statement that Onyango, alongside Jacob Beaumont-Clark, Kingsford Boakye, Roman Dixon, Bradley Moonan, Francis Okoronkwo and Reece Welch, will leave when their contracts expire at the end of the month.
The 22-year-old spent recent seasons balancing academy football with loan spells as he sought regular senior minutes. His departure now offers an opportunity for a fresh start as he seeks regular football and potentially moves closer to realizing his international ambitions with Harambee Stars.
