Mwangi will be hoping to add to his tally when they face Migori Youth in their next game with the visitors being one of the teams who have conceded less goals this season.
He is closely followed by Syphas Otieno of Migori Youth on 18 goals, keeping pressure on the leader with consistent performances in front of goal.
In third place is Athuman Rashid of Equity Bank FC with 16 goals, while Vincent Nyabuto of MOFA FC sits fourth with 14 goals; the first four names being in teams that have fought for promotion to the FKF Premier League for the better part of the season.
Soy United’s Ratolo Alfred and Vihiga United’s Amos Kigadi are the other players who have been consistent in finding goals as they are tied on 11 goals each, just ahead of MOFA FC duo Joshua Amunike and Laban Otieno, who complete the top eight with 10 goals apiece.
With several matches still to play, the race for the Golden Boot remains wide open, adding extra intrigue to the contest that might propel the scorers to better teams next season.
