Harambee Starlets duo of Mary Kinuthia and Elizabeth Katungwa featured as IF Dalhem beat P18 IK 2-5 to earn promotion to the Swedish Division One (Elitettan).


Dalhem finished second in the Division 2 Eastern Svealand Women with 18 points with their opponents finishing 8th with 10 points.


In the match, Dalhem took a 26th-minute lead via a Thea Gillerfors free-kick but hosts P18 1K turned the tide on their favour with two quick goals from Mikaela Leveau and Lina Appelgren to take a 2-1 lead at half time.

Dalhem though turned the match on their favour with goals from Bella Nilsson, Linnea Hjerp, Olivia Yttergren and another from Nilson doing the damage.

Elitettan is the second-highest division of Swedish women’s football. Contested by 14 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Damallsvenskan and Division 1. Seasons run from April to October, with teams playing 26 matches each in the season. The league was created in 2013.
