Harambee Starlets have climbed five places in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings just hours after finishing second in the FIFA Women’s Series.
Starlets went 2-0 down to Australia in the finals of the Series but the rise comes after they overcame India, one of the best raked teams in the tournament, during their semi-finals clash.

Since the rankings were released on 16 August, 2024, where they were placed at position 151, Starlets have had a steady rise where they climbed up to number 133 in December 2025.
The current jump is, however, provisional and remains subject to FIFA’s confirmation of recent matches as official international ‘A’ fixtures, with the next ranking update scheduled for 21 April 2026.
The Beldine Odemba side have recorded four win and one loss in their last five games where they have accumulated valuable ranking points, beginning with +32.71 from their win over Tunisia.
They followed this with +15.53 and +17.27 from their two encounters against The Gambia, collected +9.94 points after beating India, and added +0.89 despite the defeat to Australia.
In the CECAFA region, Tanzania leads at position 121, while Uganda sits at 146 despite climbing two places.
