Elvis Rupia grabbed a brace as Police FC resurgent continued with a 2-0 win over Posta Rangers at the Kasarani Annex on Thursday 19 January 2023.

Police who had on two of their last three matches came to the game on a back of a goalless draw against Ulinzi Stars and while there has been a change since coach Francis Baraza took over, Rangers gave them a run for their money in the first few exchanges with a solid rearguard.

The penetration of the John Kamau defence came in the 15th minute when Yusuf Mainge’s cross was headed in by Rupia who had been completely left unmarked by the home side defense. The player was to double his and Police’tally in the 41st minute from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the box.

The win sees Police rise to seventh on the Premier League log with 12 points after eight games; the same number of points as Rangers who are now winless in their last four games.

Police will be up against leaders Nzoia Sugar FC in their next game with Rangers coming up against Karibangi Sharks.
