Uganda continued their unbeaten start to the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027 qualifiers with a 1-0 victory over Libya on Tuesday.

Arnold Vula scored in first-half stoppage time to hand the co-hosts their first win of the campaign and move them to four points from two Group H matches.

Uganda had opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Tunisia and are already guaranteed a place at the 2027 finals as co-hosts. The remaining qualification spot in Group H will be contested by Tunisia, Libya and Botswana.

The result came on a night of major upsets across the continent, with Nigeria and Ghana both suffering heavy defeats.

Nigeria were stunned 3-0 at home by Guinea-Bissau, who moved to six points after two matches in Group L. Franculino, Mama Baldé and Álvaro Djaló scored for the visitors.

Ghana also surrendered a two-goal lead before losing 4-2 to The Gambia. Ernest Nuamah and Felix Afena-Gyan put Ghana ahead before Muhammed Badamosi, Omar Colley and a brace from Ebrima Colley completed the comeback. Elsewhere, Rwanda beat Cape Verde 2-1, while Zambia defeated Togo 2-0.
