“German-Turkish Engin Virat, the former coach of the Kenyan, Moldova and Iran teams, is the new manager of the Al-Star Club,” the club said while welcoming the tactician.
Firat will be assisted by the club’s legend Abbas Atwi as assistant with the duo now tasked with leading the team to glory.
Firat will be re-uniting with players he coached at Harambee Stars with Austin Odhiambo, Anthony Akumu, and Masoud Juma all in the books of the club.
Firat managed Harambee Stars from 2021 to 2024 and departed shortly after Hussein Mohammed was elected as Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President.
His last club role was with Saipa FC in Iran in 2014. He later served as a technical director before taking up national team coaching positions in Moldova and Kenya.
Nejmeh SC are currently third in the Lebanese Premier League with 28 points, seven behind league leaders Al Ansar and are set to face Reyady in their next league game.
