Goalkeeper Faruk Shikhalo has confirmed that he will be leaving Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz.

Shikhalo who joined the Kakamega-based side in March 2023 took to social media to thank Homeboyz for the time they shared and wished them the best in the future.

In a post, the shot-stopper said: “I would love to express my gratitude to the management of Kakamega Homeboyz, the players and owner Cleophas Shimanyula for the opportunity they accorded me in representing this good team. For the short time we’ve been together, you made me feel at home and all I can say is thank you so much Kakamega Homeboyz.”

The keeper’s last appearance for Homeboyz came over the weekend when he was on the bench as they fought to a scoreless draw against Bandari FC at the Bukhungu Grounds.

Shikhalo who previously featured for Tusker FC, Muhoroni Youth, Posta Rangers, and Bandari FC has been linked with a return to Tanzania where Dodoma Jiji, currently coached by Kenyan Francis Baraza, is said to be interested in his services.

Should he move to Tanzania, it won’t be the first time the player has crossed over to the neighboring country after featuring for Yanga SC, KMC FC, and Mtibwa Sugar FC.
